WHO YOU LEARN WITH MATTERS

The right
instructor

changes
everything.

You don’t just need someone who knows how to fly. You need someone who can see what you’re doing, explain what your wing is doing—and help you trust your own decisions in the air.

Your progress is personal.

Clear feedback. The right level of challenge. No pressure to fly in conditions that aren’t right for you.

THE DIFFERENCE YOU SHOULD FEEL

You should never feel like just another pilot on the hill.

Learning to fly asks a lot of you. Excitement and doubt can arrive in the same moment. A good instructor knows when to explain, when to demonstrate, when to challenge you—and when to slow everything down.
At Infinity, the aim isn’t to make you dependent on instruction. It’s to help you read the air, understand your canopy and make sound decisions for yourself. Every briefing, flight and debrief moves you closer to becoming the pilot you want to be.
01

Know the “why”

Clear explanations connect every input to what you see and feel from the wing, so the learning stays with you.
02

Grow at your pace

The challenge is adjusted to keep you progressing—without pushing you beyond the conditions or decisions you’re ready for.
03

Own your flying

The end goal is confidence built on understanding, not confidence borrowed from an instructor on the radio.
THE PEOPLE BESIDE YOUR PROGRESSION

Meet your instructors.

Different backgrounds. A shared standard: give you the knowledge, judgement and practical skill to become a capable, independent pilot.

Chris Connolly

Chris helps you turn what happens in the air into something you can understand, repeat and eventually own.
With a background in skydiving, cross-country competition and aerobatics, Chris brings a progressive, technical approach to instruction. He has represented New Zealand in cross-country competition and spent years helping pilots connect canopy dynamics, pilot input and energy management.
His strength is making complex flying feel clear. You’ll be asked to think, predict and feel—not simply follow a radio call. That approach builds pilots who understand what they’re doing and can keep learning long after the course ends.

“You don’t build confidence by removing every uncertainty. You build it by learning how to respond.”

Jason Searle

Jason brings energy, practical precision and a deep understanding of what it takes to learn a demanding skill well.
Before paragliding, Jason represented New Zealand in freestyle kayaking and built experience across climbing, adventure racing and other technical outdoor sports. That background shows in his coaching: calm observation, direct feedback and a sharp eye for the detail that unlocks your next step.
A three-time New Zealand novice acrobatic competition winner and Leo Geary Medal recipient, Jason combines genuine enthusiasm for flight with the discipline to help each student build strong, repeatable foundations.

— THE INFINITY APPROACH
HOW YOU’LL LEARN

One clear objective.
One flight at a time.

Less noise. Better feedback. Every flight becomes a deliberate step toward deeper understanding and independent judgement.
01

See it

A clear demonstration or mental picture before you launch.
02

Understand it

Know what you’re trying to achieve—and why it matters.
03

Feel it

Connect your input to the response you feel through the wing.
04

Own it

Debrief what changed, then take one focus into the next flight.
WHAT SAFETY SHOULD FEEL LIKE

Calm. Clear.
Never rushed.

Safety isn’t a speech before take-off. It’s the standard behind every decision: suitable conditions, maintained equipment, clear briefings, appropriate supervision and the freedom to say, “not today.”
Conservative weather decisions
Current qualifications and first aid
Open discussion of questions and concerns
Learning from every flight and every piece of feedback
