Who these terms apply to

These terms apply to every booking and activity supplied by Infinity Paragliding NZ Ltd, trading as Infinity Paragliding (we, us or Infinity). They cover tandem flights, instructional flights, ground training, courses, SIV training and any related transport or support that we arrange as part of an activity.

By making a booking, paying any part of the price, or participating in an activity, you confirm that you have read and accepted the terms provided to you before booking. If you book for another participant, you must make sure they receive these terms and any safety information.

Acknowledgement of risk

Paragliding is an adventure activity with inherent risks. Those risks can result in serious injury, permanent disability or death.

Risks may arise from weather, terrain, launch and landing conditions, equipment, pilot decisions, other aircraft or people, transport, towing, and events that cannot be completely controlled or predicted. Training and supervision reduce risk, but cannot remove it.

You choose to participate with an understanding of these inherent risks. You agree to take reasonable care of your own safety and the safety of others, follow briefings and instructions, and promptly tell an instructor if you do not understand something or do not feel able to continue.

Safety decisions and the instructor’s authority

Safety takes priority over completing a flight, manoeuvre, training day or course. The instructor’s decision is final on whether an activity can start or continue, which site or equipment may be used, and whether a participant is ready to fly.

We may delay, modify or stop an activity when we consider conditions, conduct, communication, fitness, equipment, fatigue or ability to present an unacceptable risk. Paying for instruction does not guarantee a right to fly, a particular number of flights, or the award of a qualification.

Health, fitness and impairment

Paragliding can be physically and mentally demanding. Before taking part, you must tell us about any medical condition, injury, medication, disability, recent procedure, pregnancy, anxiety, communication issue or other circumstance that could affect your safe participation. If you are unsure, seek medical advice before booking.

You must not participate while affected by alcohol, illegal drugs, impairing medication, fatigue or illness. Alcohol must not be consumed during an activity day and must not be consumed during the 10 hours before training begins. Tell your instructor immediately if your condition changes.

Bookings and payment

A place is confirmed only when we issue confirmation and receive the deposit or payment specified for that activity. The balance must be paid by the date shown in your booking confirmation or invoice. We may release an unpaid place after giving reasonable notice.

You are responsible for giving us complete and accurate contact, participant, experience and medical information. Tell us promptly if anything changes before the activity begins.

Gift vouchers and account credits

A gift voucher sold on or after 16 March 2026 will have an expiry of at least three years from its sale date, unless a lawful exception applies. The expiry date or redemption period will be shown prominently on the voucher. Vouchers sold before that date keep the expiry terms stated when they were sold.

A voucher will state whether it represents a named activity or a dollar value. Redemption is subject to availability, the participant meeting the activity requirements, these terms, and any terms shown on the voucher. Optional upgrades and any amount above a dollar-value voucher are payable by the customer. Any unused dollar balance remains available until the original expiry date.

Vouchers are not redeemable for cash except where required by law. If a booking made with a voucher is changed or cancelled, the relevant cancellation terms apply and any remaining credit is returned to the voucher with its original expiry date.

Weather and operational changes

Paragliding is weather-dependent. Dates, start times, sites, launch methods, daily plans and flight numbers may change at short notice. These decisions are made for safety and are a normal part of the activity, not a guarantee that the programme will follow a fixed schedule.

If we cancel an activity before it starts, we will offer a transfer, credit, or refund of the amount paid for the service we cannot provide, subject to any course-specific terms below and your rights under New Zealand law. If weather interrupts an activity already underway, any credit or refund will reflect the instruction, briefings, flights, transport and other services already delivered.

Unless required by law, we are not responsible for separate travel, accommodation, insurance, visa, equipment or other costs. We strongly recommend flexible bookings and suitable travel insurance.

Your cancellation or date change

Intro Course (PG1)

The following cancellation and refund rules apply specifically to Intro Course bookings:

If Infinity cancels or reschedules because of weather or instructor availability, you may choose a full refund or a free transfer to the next available Intro Course cohort. No fee applies.
If you cancel or reschedule 14 days or more before the course date, you may transfer free to any future Intro Course cohort, or receive a refund less a NZ$30 administration fee covering payment processing.
If you cancel or reschedule inside 14 days, your payment becomes credit toward a future Intro Course cohort. No cash refund applies inside this period, but your payment is not forfeited.

All other courses

Cancellation and date-change requests must be made in writing. Unless the SIV terms below apply, the following general course rules apply:

NOTICE BEFORE START

12 weeks or more

One date transfer without a rebooking fee, subject to availability; or a refund less reasonable, non-recoverable booking costs.

Between 4 and 12 weeks

A date transfer is subject to availability and a NZ$250 rebooking fee. If you cancel, we may retain the NZ$250 fee and any further amount that reasonably reflects our non-recoverable costs and loss from the cancellation.

Less than 4 weeks

No date transfer. We may retain payment to cover our reasonable loss from the late cancellation. If we refill your place, we will refund the balance less the NZ$250 fee and non-recoverable costs.

A no-show or a participant choosing to stop after an activity has begun is treated as a late cancellation. We may consider exceptional circumstances case by case, but this does not create an entitlement.

Training, progress and course completion

Progress is individual. Flight numbers, course duration and completion depend on weather, attendance, learning pace, judgement, physical ability and demonstrated competence. We do not guarantee that a participant will complete a course or achieve a rating within a fixed number of days.

If a participant attends only the scheduled briefing or theory session, a NZ$100 participation fee applies. Training interrupted by the participant is charged for the services delivered and is subject to the applicable cancellation terms.

Additional SIV course terms

These terms apply in addition to the general terms. If there is a conflict, this SIV section applies to the SIV booking.

Full payment is required by the date stated in your booking confirmation to secure the place.

A two-day SIV course is treated as delivered in full when four course flights are completed; a three-day course is treated as delivered in full when six course flights are completed.

If a flight is completed on a course day, NZ$150 per person is allocated to that day’s delivered service.

If no flight is made but a pilot briefing, equipment check or theory session is delivered, NZ$150 per person is allocated to that delivered service.

If a participant is taken to release height on tow but does not fly the SIV sequence, NZ$150 is allocated to the delivered service.

If weather prevents completion, we will offer a voucher or refund. Under the current course structure, the weather-related refund is between 50% and 80% of the course fee, calculated against the services delivered.

Equipment and personal property

Participant-owned equipment must be suitable for the activity, within its service life, correctly maintained and presented for any required check. An equipment check does not transfer the owner’s ongoing responsibility for its condition or airworthiness.

School equipment must be used only as instructed and treated with care. You may be charged the reasonable repair or replacement cost of loss or damage caused deliberately, recklessly, or by use contrary to an instructor’s direction. Keep personal belongings secure; ordinary loss or damage is at your risk except where caused by our breach of a legal duty.

Participant insurance

You are responsible for arranging insurance appropriate to your circumstances and the activity, including cover for cancellation, equipment, medical treatment and adventure activities. For any course outside New Zealand, comprehensive medical, accident and repatriation cover is mandatory and evidence may be requested before participation.

Photography, video and training footage

We may capture photos, video or audio during activities for instruction, debriefing, incident review, safety, our website, social media and promotional purposes. We will handle identifiable footage as personal information.

By accepting these terms, you authorise Infinity to use and publish photos, video or audio in which you may be identifiable, and to associate that material with your name or with a testimonial, personal story or endorsement that you have voluntarily provided to us, without asking for separate permission each time. We will not invent, materially alter or falsely attribute any statement, story, testimonial or endorsement to you.

If you do not want identifiable images or video used for promotional purposes, tell us in writing before your activity and we will make reasonable efforts to exclude you. You may also withdraw authorisation for future use by contacting us. Withdrawal cannot always remove material already printed, published or shared by others.

Personal information

We collect and use personal information to manage bookings, assess safe participation, deliver training, communicate changes, respond to incidents and meet legal obligations. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is stored, accessed and corrected.

We may share only the information reasonably necessary with people who help deliver an activity, such as instructors, tow operators, transport providers, booking providers or emergency services. We do not authorise those parties to use it for unrelated marketing.

Conduct, smoking and communication

Participants must behave responsibly, follow site rules, respect other pilots, landowners, staff and members of the public, and not interfere with another person’s safe participation. Smoking or vaping is not permitted near paragliding equipment, fuel, vehicles or briefing areas where prohibited.

We may refuse or end participation for unsafe, abusive, disruptive or discriminatory conduct, or when communication is not sufficient to follow safety instructions. Where participation ends because of the participant’s conduct, unused services are not refundable except where required by law.

Participants under 18

A participant under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian make or approve the booking, accept these terms on their behalf, and complete any required consent forms. We may require the guardian to remain present for some activities.

Consumer rights and liability

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Fair Trading Act 1986.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Infinity is not liable for loss caused by inherent risks you knowingly accept, your failure to follow instructions, inaccurate or withheld information, participant-owned equipment, or events outside our reasonable control. We do not exclude liability to the extent it arises from our failure to exercise legally required care and skill or from another liability that the law does not allow us to exclude.

Complaints, changes and governing law

If something is not right, please contact us promptly so we have a fair opportunity to understand and resolve it. Making a complaint does not limit any other legal right or remedy.

The version of these terms provided when your booking is made applies to that booking. We may update terms for future bookings. If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. These terms are governed by New Zealand law and New Zealand courts have non-exclusive jurisdiction.
