Information we may collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Your name, email address, telephone number and residential or postal address.
- Your age or date of birth.
- Your weight and other information needed to select suitable equipment or safely provide a flight.
- Emergency-contact details.
- Relevant medical conditions, injuries, medications, physical limitations or other safety information.
- Your flying experience, qualifications, licence details and training history.
- Booking, attendance, payment, refund and transaction information.
- Signed waivers, declarations, applications and course documentation.
- Communications with us, including emails, messages, enquiries and feedback.
- Flight, training, assessment, certification and incident records.
- Photographs, video, audio and training footage.
- Website information such as browser type, device information, pages visited, referring website and cookie or analytics data.
- Any other information you choose to provide.
We only collect information that is reasonably necessary for our activities or that we are required to collect by law.
How we collect information
We normally collect personal information directly from you when you:
- Submit an enquiry or contact form.
- Make or receive a booking through FluentBooking on our WordPress website.
- Apply for or participate in a course, tandem flight or event.
- Complete a waiver, medical declaration or safety form.
- Subscribe to marketing communications or a waiting list through FluentCRM.
- Communicate with us by email, telephone, messaging service or social media.
- Use our website.
- Participate in photography, filming or recorded training.
We may also receive information from someone booking on your behalf, a parent or guardian, a previous instructor, a flying school, a witness, a certification body, emergency services, medical providers or insurers.
Information received from someone else
Where we collect personal information about you from another source, we will take reasonable steps to ensure you are informed, unless you are already aware of the collection or an exception under the Privacy Act applies.
Why we collect and use your information
We may use personal information to:
- Respond to enquiries and communicate with you.
- Manage bookings, applications, waiting lists, payments and refunds.
- Provide tandem flights, instruction, courses and other services.
- Assess whether an activity, course or piece of equipment is appropriate for you.
- Protect the health and safety of students, passengers, pilots, instructors and others.
- Respond to emergencies, accidents, incidents or concerns.
- Maintain training, flight, assessment and qualification records.
- Issue or support qualifications, ratings or certification where applicable.
- Meet aviation, safety, insurance, accounting and legal obligations.
- Investigate complaints, disputes, incidents or possible breaches of our terms.
- Improve our services, website, courses and customer experience.
- Send marketing communications where you have consented or where otherwise permitted by law.
If you do not provide information necessary for a booking, safety assessment, course or flight, we may be unable to accept the booking, provide the service, allow participation or issue a qualification.
Health and safety information
Paragliding involves inherent risks. We may need information about your health, medications, injuries, physical condition, weight, emergency contacts and ability to participate safely.
We use this information to assess suitability, select equipment, manage risk, respond to emergencies and meet our safety responsibilities.
Access to sensitive health and safety information is limited to people who reasonably need it for instruction, operations, emergency response, insurance, incident management or legal compliance.
You are responsible for providing information that is accurate, complete and up to date where it may affect your safety or the safety of others.
Photography, video and training footage
Photography, video, audio and flight footage may be recorded during courses, tandem flights, events and training activities.
We may use identifiable images or footage without separately identifying the person by name for:
- Instruction, debriefing and pilot development.
- Safety review and incident investigation.
- Internal records.
- Our website, social media and promotional materials.
- General education about paragliding and our services.
We will ask permission before associating your name, testimonial, personal story or endorsement with an image or recording.
You may opt out in writing before an activity or ask us to stop using or remove particular material. We will act on reasonable requests where practicable, subject to legal, safety, evidential and recordkeeping requirements and the practical limits of material already published or distributed.
Additional protections may apply when children or young people are photographed or filmed.
Who we may share information with
We may share personal information when reasonably necessary with:
- Our instructors, staff and contractors.
- Our WordPress website host and the FluentBooking and FluentCRM systems used for bookings, waiting lists and communications.
- Stripe, which securely processes payments and refunds on our behalf.
- Google Analytics, Meta Pixel and other providers used for website measurement or advertising.
- Cloud-storage, communication, accounting, technology and email-delivery providers.
- Certification, sporting, aviation or regulatory organisations.
- Emergency services, medical providers, insurers, professional advisers and claims managers.
- Government agencies, regulators, courts or law-enforcement authorities where required or permitted by law.
We do not sell or rent personal information. Service providers are given only the information reasonably required to perform their services.
Bookings — FluentBooking. Operates within our WordPress website to collect and manage booking information.
Payments — Stripe. Processes card details securely. We receive payment confirmation and limited transaction information, not complete card numbers.
Email and CRM — FluentCRM. Stores contact lists and communication preferences within our WordPress system.
Overseas storage and processing
Some of our technology and service providers—including Stripe, Google and Meta—may store or process information outside New Zealand.
Where the Privacy Act’s overseas-disclosure requirements apply, we will take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient provides safeguards comparable to those required in New Zealand, use another lawful basis for the disclosure, or obtain informed authorisation where required.
Where an overseas provider stores or processes information solely on our behalf, we expect it to handle that information only for the services it provides to us and in accordance with appropriate privacy and security requirements.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for essential website functions, security, remembering preferences, understanding website use, measuring performance and assessing advertising campaigns.
Google Analytics helps us understand how visitors find and use our website. It may collect cookie identifiers, device and browser information and activity on our website.
Meta Pixel helps us measure advertising and understand actions taken after someone sees or interacts with an advertisement.
Google and Meta may process information outside New Zealand in accordance with their own privacy policies. Where required, non-essential analytics and advertising technologies will be controlled through the cookie preferences available on our website.
You can also manage or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect website functionality.
Marketing communications
We use FluentCRM within our WordPress website to manage email subscribers, waiting lists, course announcements and other marketing communications.
We may send you news, waiting-list updates or promotional information where you have consented or where we are otherwise permitted to do so.
Commercial electronic messages will identify Infinity Paragliding and provide a clear way to unsubscribe. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link or instructions in the message or by contacting us.
Unsubscribing from marketing will not prevent us from sending necessary booking, safety, course or service communications.
Storage, security and retention
We use reasonable physical, administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure. Access is limited to people who reasonably require the information to perform their work.
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably required for the purpose for which it was collected or to meet safety, certification, accounting, insurance, dispute-resolution or legal obligations. Information no longer required will be securely deleted, destroyed or anonymised where reasonably practicable.
No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Privacy breaches
If a privacy breach occurs, we will take reasonable steps to contain it, investigate what happened and reduce the risk of further harm.
Where a breach has caused or is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify the Office of the Privacy Commissioner and affected individuals as required by the Privacy Act.
Accessing or correcting your information
You may ask us to:
- Confirm whether we hold personal information about you.
- Provide access to the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
We may need to verify your identity before responding. Access may be limited where the Privacy Act allows or requires information to be withheld.

Privacy complaints
If you believe we have not handled your personal information appropriately, please contact our Privacy Officer first so we can investigate and respond.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the New Zealand Office of the Privacy Commissioner through privacy.org.nz.
External websites
Our website may link to external websites, booking systems, forms, payment services or social-media platforms.
Those organisations have their own privacy practices, and we recommend reviewing their privacy information before providing personal information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, systems or legal obligations change.
The current version and its last-updated date will be published on this page. If a change materially affects how we use information already collected, we will provide additional notice where reasonably appropriate or legally required.
