Variometers

Variometers

A variometer – also known as a rate of climb and descent indicator (RCDI), rate-of-climb indicator, vertical speed indicator (VSI), or vertical velocity indicator (VVI) – is a flight instrument used to inform a pilot of their rate of descent or climb. Variometers work by measuring the rate of change of altitude by detecting the change in air pressure (static pressure) as altitude changes.

We stock a number of different meters that will suit pilots from beginners through to those interested in competing at competition level. If you want advice on what to buy, please ask!
